The winners of the photography competition held in conjunction with the Flora Fest 2007 were announced at a prize giving ceremony yesterday. Thirteen winners received their prizes from YB Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, Minister of Tourism, Malaysia and one of them was me (consolation only). The competition, themed “Colours of Harmony”, was organised to encourage the public to appreciate local flora. Over 1400 photos were submitted but only 200 photos were selected for the exhibition including the winners photos. Here are some of the photos shot by my wife...

Went to Dataran Merdeka yesterday to see the KL International Buskers Festival. It was a colourful and magnificent show from street performers from at least six different countries. These performers bring with them circus skills, comic relief, musical talents and juggling skills.

Tak sempat la nak gi semalam, esok lusa kot, tapi tak grand cam semalam la, dah berterabur kat KL nie.. Sun 3-Dec-2006 14:02

Another boring weekend, so we head to Bagan Lalang. Took some photos there and this is my first attempt taking photos of sunset. Not really nice coz it's always raining in the evening. So it was difficult to get a beautiful sunset. We also tried the seafood at the beach and we really liked it (fresh and cheap).

FRIM

Going through the basic of photography at the cafeteria
Andy Lim
Practical shooting
View all 15 photos...
Went to FRIM on Saturday for a photography course conducted by Andy Lim. There were 7 participants and we were taught the basic of photography and did some practical shooting. There, I met Ghazee again whom I first met from Ted Adnan's Lighting Workshop. Most of the participants used Nikon DSLR except for Thong Mei who was using a Canon (with a Nikon bag). The course was not what I expected coz I was hoping for more practical shooting around FRIM but still, I did learn something new from the course and most important, I met some new friends.

I went back to FRIM again on Sunday and this time with my wife and kids. We wanted to go to the canopy walkway which is about 300m above sea level. It was a tiring journey up the hill and after halfway up, my wife decided not to continue and took the kids back to the parking area. So, I had to go uphill alone and I had to make a few stops before reaching the walkway (I never thought it's going to be that tough). The walkway system spans about 200m and is suspended between trees about 30m above ground. After walking a few metres on the walkway, I almost gave up since I was afraid of height. But I kept on going coz I think this is one way to overcome my fear of height and I also managed to shoot some photos while walking on the walkway. It was a spectacular view up there and you can also see KL from the walkway. I went back down to meet my family and after that I took them to the Sungai Kroh waterfall.

Seronok jugak le. Mon 11-Sep-2006 02:32

Cruise Tasik Putrajaya

View all 13 photos...
It was a holiday and got nothing to do, so I took my family to Putrajaya to try out the cruise boat. The cruise boat which can accomodate 76 persons and fully air-conditioned leisurely cruise through the 400 hectare man-made lake for about 45 minutes. There were about 10 passengers on the cruise boat, so we can move around the boat freely. You can see a different view of Putrajaya from the boat. Thanks to the friendly tour guide, Encik Jasni and Encik Nazri , the boat captain for the wonderful cruise around the lake.

Tasik Sri Permaisuri's Playground

While waiting for my eldest daughter's tuition class to finish, I took my other two daughters to Tasik Sri Permaisuri. There were a lot of people there but luckily I found a parking space. If you've been there, you know how difficult to park your car especially during weekends.I happen to bring along my camera so I took some photos of my two daughters playing at the playground.
